Medivire Group expands
Medivire Hoiva Oy buys care services specialist CarePartner Finland Oy

CarePartner Finland Oy is to be taken over by Medivire Hoiva Oy in October. CarePartner Finland Oy specialises in nursing home, home care and child day centre services. The deal will also include Ateriaali Oy, which produces meal services. The move will strengthen Medivire Hoiva Oy’s leader status and boost its resources as a producer of care services in Finland.

CarePartner Finland Oy is part of CarePartner Sverige AB, a group of companies that produce care services in the Nordic countries. The Finnish company has belonged to the Group since 2002. CarePartner Sverige is owned by the company’s executive management (51 %) and ISS A/S (49 %).

The company’s main business is the provision of a diverse range of care services for different client groups. These include home care services – anything from cleaning to healthcare at home – as well as housing services in three different units, playschool arrangements at day centres, and meal services (Ateriaali Oy). The company employs 250 care professionals covering the Greater Helsinki area, Kotka and Jaala. The combined turnover for CarePartner Finland Oy and Ateriaali Oy in 2003 was 7.62 million euros.

Controlled growth

The company acquisition supports Medivire Hoiva Oy’s strategic goals.

“ We want to strengthen our position in the market as the leading private producer of social services in Finland. There will be a growing demand for care services in the future and we aim to provide quality services that reliably meet the needs of our clients. The takeover will increase our resources significantly and in future we will be in a better position to cater for the needs of our clients,” says Kristiina Hautakangas, Managing Director of  Medivire Hoiva Oy.

After the new arrangement Medivire Hoiva’s annual turnover will be around EUR 20 million and the total number of staff employed will be in the region of 600.

The entire staff of CarePartner Finland and Ateriaali will transfer to the Medivire Group with full employee rights. Under the agreement, the business operation will transfer to Medivire Hoiva Oy in October 2004.

“The move is a new opportunity for the industry. It will mean a growth in our business and improved services,” says Varpu Mattlar, Managing Director of CarePartner Finland Oy.

Medivire Hoiva Oy is part of the Medivire Group, a strong player in the health and welfare sector. The Group’s turnover in 2004 will exceed EUR 70 million. Medivire Hoiva Oy specialises in housing services, home care and personal security phones. It designs whole service packages as required by clients and those in receipt of services. The company operates on a nationwide basis. The company’s turnover in 2003 was 8.8 million euros and the number of staff it employed was approximately 330.
